St Patrick’s school was off to Sylvia Park to watch films that students have made for the manaiakalani film festival. Something in plan for them. It was going to be a scary trip for St Patrick’s school. I wonder what was to happen to them?

On Wednesday, St Patrick’s school went to the movies to watch the manaiakalani film festival. We travelled on a bus to go to the movies. However, something strange started happening on the bus, the teachers became zombies and the bus driver became a spirit. All the kids started to feel really scared and they were put under a sleeping spell for one hour. One hour later, the kids woke up from the one hour rest time and discovered that they were at ghoul land.

When the teachers went out of the bus, they went to their Zombie lair and started to sleep. Then the bus driver went out of the bus and he came back with a crystal ball and his other spirit friends. After that, the students wanted to explore ghoul land but they couldn’t because their bottoms were stuck to the chairs and they couldn’t move their bodies. Then when it became night, kids started moving and they were able to move again. So they wasted no time and tried to find a way out.

One of the kids saw a button that said ‘Back to the real world’ so she told everyone about the button the was on that bus. However they didn’t know that it won’t work without the bus keys and the bus driver had it with him. So when they pressed the button it didn’t work, they started to panic. However one brave student thought about an idea she said “Let’s get the smallest person to go outside and break the crystal ball and get the bus driver’s keys”. They all replied “Great idea!” So they got the smallest person and told her to sneak out and five minutes later she came back with the keys and they were finally saved!

Just then Ella marie woke up from her dream and she was so glad it was not true or was it?

Playing Softball is Fun!

WALT write a narrative. I know I can do this when I can use adjectives to describe events and things in my writing.

Once upon a time there was a girl and her name was Ashley.
She was poor lonely and she was always so sad. She lived with her grandparents and her dad. They lived at the top of a very tall and dirty building. Ashley was the only one working for her family and she worked at a Garbage chute.

One day her Dad was on his way down the building when he saw a poster that stated, ‘Free Softball trials’.  He ran up the steps to tell his daughter about the trials. She thought about it for a long time. Then she finally agreed with her father and started getting ready for the practice.

When she arrived at the venue, she saw a lot of rich kids that she didn’t know and they seemed unfriendly. She felt so alone but she was able to hold it in. Ten minutes later, the coaches arrived and introduced themselves. "Hi, my name is Debbie and her name is Santana”. They all replied happily, “Hi Debbie and Santana!”

They were so excited about the softball practice including Ashley.
They were taught about butterfly hands, about home base, first base, second base and third base. They played a game which involved using the bases and catching the ball. When they finished the practice, Ashely 's attitude changed and she became  happier and  more confident.

From then on, she decided to attend all the practices. Ashley also read books about softball techniques, borrowed used softball materials from her coaches and played with her dad at home.  She made sure that she improved in every game that she played. With her dedication and enthusiasm, she became the best softball player in the country

Rest home Visit
Have you ever been to a rest home and seen old people ? Do you know how it feels like to live in a rest home?

On Sunday 7th of September it was Father’s Day! The  Filipino community and I went to the Waipuna rest home hospital to sing to the elderly. We went inside to find that it was a bit empty. I said “ Where did everyone go?” Then my mum replied “ they’re in the lunchroom waiting to be serenaded”.
When we went in the lunchroom there were about 6 people waiting.  We set-up our things and got ready to sing. The kids and I had to sing “Dance  with My Father”.  At the end of the performance, it was kind of like I was singing alone because I was singing the loudest because I was holding the microphone. When I finished singing I cried because I felt really sad. I had such a bad feeling. I felt blue.....

My mum said, “ It’s just the beginning because there are more people on the other side,”. When we arrived at the other side I saw familiar faces. The choir and I sang Church songs and Contemporary songs. For the second time, I sang  “Dance with My Father” and I felt more confident singing it this time because there were more ladies than men.

When we finished singing the elderly people were crying and they said thank you to us by saying, “ You’re songs are better than Rock and Roll!” We went outside for picture taking afterwards.
I felt happy because I made the elderly happy and I was glad because I was able to sing for my dad in heaven.

On Friday 18th of April, we went to church. Everyone was walking towards Saint Patrick's School.  My mum received a paper that had 13 pages in all of the paper. On the front v page it had the words ‘ Stations of the Cross’ written on it. After that we all started to pray. Everybody was wearing something black and their faces looked so sad,  some people were even crying it was a really sad time for the Christians. There was something different in the Stations of the Cross people were saying it in different languages.
The different languages were English, Maori, Filipino, Samoan, Tongan. Every time there is a change of language there is a different person carrying the cross. The first person who carried the cross was Father Michael. He carried the cross up to room 8 which the was the third station. Then it was Cheska's dad was carrying the cross all the way to front of room 5 then more people until the end. Station 13 was when we all went back to church. In the church we started saying a prayer for Jesus. Once everything was finished we went back home. What Do You Know About Dogs?

WALT use the correct structure in our writing. I know I have done this when I have explained everything about dogs.

A dog is a four legged animal. It is a part of the wolf family. It is a domesticated animal. They are kind creatures. They have a good sense of smell and hearing. Dogs are mammals. Some dogs can run really fast. Dogs are really energetic.

Dogs are man's best friend, dogs are cute and  loving animals. Dogs are very loyal to their owners. They look after their owners and keep them away from harm. Dogs are curious with the world and likes to run around the block and see what's around the corner.

A Pomeranian is a type of dog which is a small and lovable. They have almond shaped ears, an overcoat and a long tail. These dogs are good and loyal pets.
They are trained to stay inside the house. They need to be walked every day for exercise. Pomeranians are the fifteenth most popular pet dog. They are famously called poms or pom pom because of their shape and size. The Pomeranian dog is a titanic survivor because it's owner Margaret Hays survived the titanic. A pom pom can live up to 12 - 16 years old. The awkward stage for Pomeranian dogs are when they are a teen, their hair falls of and there could be bald spots.

A person who is interested to have a Pomeranian as a pet. They could go to the SPCA  to adopt. A person needs to pay a small amount to the SPCA then the person could take the puppy home.  The person can take it for walks and let them eat food that they have to eat. They need to be potty trained like babies so they will not make a mess inside the house. The pets could be dressed up in cute, fancy clothes. They could also be taught tricks like fetch roll over, sit and shake hands. To keep these dogs lovely and healthy they need to make a visit to the vet regularly. They also need to be groomed and washed so that fleas will not stay in their fur. When dogs are for sale, they are  usually very expensive. The normal ranges from $700 to $1,200. Some people make a living out of breeding and selling dogs because they sell really well.

Dogs are important  because, they care for you, protect you from any harm and guide you if you are blind.

The Best Thing About Schools

WALT use the correct structure in our writing.
I know I can do this by being able to use the correct paragraphs and explain the things that happen in school.

A school, is a place where students learn. You get an education and to get ready for college, high school and university and when the students become adults they are better prepared for a better future and an easier life in work and better promotions.

Saint Patrick’s school is a catholic school teaches catholic values and teaches kids all about God and Jesus also all about the importance of religion. School starts at 8:45 and ends at 2:45 that is only 7 hours. Then there is the line which students go if they are  going to the Auckland library. This school is catholic because the school is a mission school.

The first thing that the students do is say a prayer to help them to do well in class. Then they do RE
which means religious education and and they learn about everything in the bible. Then they sometimes have jump jam which is when they do their exercise and be fit. Then they go back to work and do what the teacher tells them what to do then they start. After 4 sessions, they go to break 1.Once break 1 is over,  they go back  to class and study important things that they need to know.  Next , the students get ready for break 2. They say grace the before  the meal and take their lunch outside the classroom. Then the second bell rings then the students start playing. Next

One of the most important event is Mission day. Mission day is a day where students try to raise money to help the  poor. Students bring money and try to do all of the activity’s and buy things and choose whatever they like in a cheap price. The school is able to  provide a lot of money every year to the needy people. All student all look forward to mission day and have a lot of fun.

We Must Maintain The Panmure Cottage

WALT use the correct writing structure to explain Panmure cottage. I know I can do this by explaining everything that I saw in the cottage

Why is it important that we maintain the Panmure Cottage ?

The Panmure cottage is a place where people learn what the 19th century houses looked like and how hard it was to live in the olden days or in the 19th Century. The Panmure cottage was relocated three times. The Panmure Cottage was built in the 19th Century. The Panmure cottage was built with volcanic rock. In the cottage there were six rooms. There are six rooms in the cottage in the six rooms there were filled with things in the past. One of the rooms contained tools and cleaning materials. The rooms had paintings that show who were the owners and who were the important people then. One of the rooms had a embroidery of the cottage that a  twelve year old girl had made it.In one of the rooms upstairs it had a picture of a ship. It travelled for one hundred and five days from country to country. A lot of people died because of how long the trip was. Upstairs there is a cradle with  a baby doll in it.The Panmure Cottage is important because it tells us how things were like in the 19th Century.
